The thoughts of the Competition Committee on this project are as follows: We are seeking to make the best possible use of the site's potential with an innovative development strategy imbued with beauty, dignity and vitality and attuned to 21st century ideals. In order to achieve this new people-based community, we need to attract a concentration of globally competitive businesses and modern industries, to realize the latent potential of Kansai's vast knowledge and human resources. We want the new development to strongly promote this region and show that Osaka can make a difference in the world, act as an information conduit and create an attractive, original model for community building. Our envisioned community will physically embody coming trends and create a vibrant new urban landscape.
